Echoes of Monsters

Echoes of Monsters is about a slave revolt on a planet conquered by a high-tech warrior-caste society. The whole interstellar political map is fragmented societies, on isolated groups of stars, rebuilding after an armageddon-style collapse of one really big civilization. The original civilization drove itself to collapse destroying their own doomsday weapons. Echoes of Monsters comes out of the losing side in a war getting desperate enough to let the genie back out of the bottle. Only their doomsday weapon didn't grow up fast enough, and in the invasion, she got lost in the shuffle. And now nobody knows that she's out there somewhere. Her, um, attributes are dormant. She doesn't even know what she is. She's a scullery maid in a conquering family's house, and she's just hitting adolescence....
